Mindful Writing Day!

http://www.writingourwayhome.com/p/mindful-writing-day-on-1st-of-november.html

The blizzard has sunk into the ground here,
I suppose it will seed itself
Like wild thistle in our pasture

Snow, I think I remember you,
didn't we meet in a splash creek
when I was five,
less snow-weary....,

My, how you've grown,
But where are
your sun kisses?

the last splash -- LIGHT...

I'm going to pause in Small Stones until a later time -- possibly not again until next January.

The past few days:

The sun rises in the evening
 radiates from a flower
 blooms through the music
flows out from an abandoned cathedral

February 23

Sunlight dripped at the eaves all day until the earth was drenched in flowers.

Yesterday's sad stone

she stills her thoughts inside those eyes to keep her mind from butterflies,
the child so lately full of life has gone to the other side...

on the death of my friend's three-year-old daughter -- Rest easy, Taliha.

small stones -- February 21

The sun took down the drifts and threatened the field of white where wild onions are shin-tall. Neighbor kids built a snowman to destroy, their sticks and stones litter the field of battle.

Small Stone -- February 19 --February 20

Hi Winter! So glad you could stop by. Thank you for shooting out the streetlights for me. I found my sanity -- it was right where I left it -- in the soft glow of lantern lights and the sweet whir of my spinning wheel.

Small Stone -- February 17

GREEN!  tiptoeing up the stairs to peek between the brown stalks of winter. WELCOME!
